The cowardly lion

Abstract: The Cowardly Lion is an exploration into the stages of loss and grief in intimate relationships and how empathy can heal as love for another similarly experiencing a loss of a parent causes her to finally grieve the loss of her parent after many years.  It introduces the protagonist, Greta who enters into a relationship with a man simply known in the novel as he, who challenges Greta's traditional concept of commitment.

Designed as an academic read and grounded in theories of attachment, abandonment, and avoidance readers navigate Greta's relationship weaving through the six stages of grieving process and how they learn to confront grief by learning how to love one another and accept themselves.

What is great is readers love and dislike Greta and he interchangeably, their characters, how they respect each other or lack thereof, questionable decisions.
